Long before a Schullin jewel finds its place in a collection or on someone's hand, it begins inside our atelier at Kohlmarkt. This is where exceptional gemstones inspire new ideas, where sketches evolve into wearable works of art, and where decades of craftsmanship transform precious materials into jewellery with lasting meaning. More than a workshop, the Schullin atelier is the place where every collection, every bespoke creation and every story begins.
For more than three generations, our designers and master goldsmiths have worked side by side in Vienna, united by a shared belief that exceptional jewellery cannot be rushed. Every piece is imagined, refined and handcrafted with patience, precision and an uncompromising attention to detail, resulting in creations that are as individual as the gemstones that inspire them.
Every Story Begins with a Gemstone
The Schullin family travels across the world to personally source exceptional diamonds and coloured gemstones, selecting each one for its individuality, rarity and natural beauty. Rather than searching for stones to fit an existing design, we often do the opposite. A remarkable gemstone becomes the inspiration from which an entirely new creation emerges.
Back in Vienna, the atelier begins its work. Gemstones are arranged, compared and studied, not only for their colour but also for the dialogue they create with one another. Every combination is carefully considered before a single line is drawn.
From Idea to Creation
Once the creative direction has been established, the first sketches begin to take shape. Initial concepts explore balance, proportion and movement before being refined into detailed technical drawings and precise three dimensional models. Throughout this process, designers and master goldsmiths work closely together, continuously refining every line, every setting and every detail until the design achieves perfect harmony.

Precious metals are shaped, assembled and finished entirely by hand, while every gemstone is carefully set into a bespoke setting designed specifically for its proportions. Every surface is polished, every detail inspected and every creation perfected before it leaves the atelier.
